Community is the reason we do what we do. ALA Gives Back is an initiative that will allow you to volunteer and make a difference in a local community and demonstrate the difference that library professionals can make.

ALA has partnered with Burton Barr Central Library for the 2025 community service project in Phoenix. The Burton Barr Central Library is a part of the Phoenix Public Library. Their mission is to connect today’s community to a world of possibilities.  Housing a collection of one million volumes, the library includes a Great Reading Room, StartUpPHX, College Depot, Central Gallery, and so much more.

ALA Gives Back participants will help assemble seed packets for the 2025 Seed Library. The Seed Library offers a variety of fruit, vegetable, and perennial seeds available for check out to library customers.
